The White Winter — Queenstown
The White Winter
A week in Queenstown, the three of us. Snow, an easy pace, and Élleina's first proper winter. The plan, the bookings and the weather, all in one place.
How it's looking
Live forecast from Queenstown. Useful for picking which morning we do the snow. It gets more accurate the closer we get.
Day by day
Tap any day to open it: the plan, what to pack, where to eat nearby, a backup if the weather turns, and a spot to add your own notes.
Before we go
Worth sorting before the busy ski-season weeks fill up. Tap to mark one done; it saves on this device, so your list and mine stay separate.
What to pack
Late June sits around 0 to 8 degrees, so we'll need more than we own. Tick things off as they go in the bag.
Where everything is
Drive times from Hotel St Moritz. The map needs signal, but the drive times and addresses below work offline.
Where to eat
Filter by what you're after. All of these are fine for an early sitting with a little one.
The details
Flights, transfers, the hotel, and who to call if we need anything, all in one place.
How the week is paced
A few things are set up around the pregnancy. Drives are short and timed to Élleina's naps, the snow is a morning rather than a whole day, and there is a free afternoon midweek.
The hot pools are out for now, they run too warm, so the Friday afternoon is a pregnancy massage instead.
One more thing
We did it, the three of us, in the cold and the quiet. Élleina's first snow, and a good slow week of it.
I'll remember her face at the top more than the snow itself. The cows at the farm, the early dinners with the lake going dark outside.
The next one we do with the little one who wasn't quite here yet. Home now, warmer, and glad we went.
